Hello, I’m Donna

Painter, Illustrator and Graphic Artist

I have immersed myself in a lifelong passion for art and design, and I’ve channeled my creative energy into a dynamic journey. For over a decade, I’ve crafted visual narratives that transcend conventional boundaries. With each brushstroke or pixel, I translate ideas into evocative designs.

What fuels my fire? The continuous quest to meld tradition with innovation. I thrive on mastering new graphic software, employing them as my canvas for inventive expression.

This pursuit of knowledge keeps my designs on the cutting edge, fusing timeless artistry with the latest technological advancements. My journey is an evolution of artistic fervor and a commitment to pushing creative frontiers.

  • Hello! My name is Oritsetsonaye Donna Bennet, née Oduro (Donna or Naye for short). I am a multi-disciplinary visual artist who is a fine art painter, an illustrator, and a graphic artist. I believe that art is life and create imaginative, valuable visual works that inspire and please the hearts of my audience. I am a cradle artist. I was born in Nigeria with Ghanian ancestry from my father’s side. I was born with a paintbrush in my hand, my parents will say. I studied and graduated from the renowned Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, Nigeria, in fine and graphic arts and did my master’s at the University for the Creative Arts in Epsom, UK. I have been painting for years and have some of my works displayed at the POP Gallery in Lagos. A small family-run creative centre. Bringing art to the people. My artwork was also showcased at the ‘All Woman Art Exhibition.’ Hosted by the United States-based ‘Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery.’

I love all techniques and styles of art, be they digital or traditional. Several of my graphic works have been printed commercially by Darling & Amigos Packaging Designs (Ayman/Godrej Nigeria). My first love will always be painting, as I was greatly inspired by renowned artists like Bruce Onobrakpeya’s and Paul Gauguin’s abstract and expressionist styles. I have always wanted to showcase my innermost feelings through my art. I believe it speaks for me in every design and brush stroke.

Currently, I am exploring aspects of media art and technology and seeking to better understand how to translate concepts from the digital realm into the physical and from one medium to another using different technologies.
